Highlights from Shop.org 2012 – Retail’s Tech Conference

The MokiMobility team recently descended on the Mile High City for the National Retail Federation’s Shop.org 2012, an event for all the technology that powers retail and ecommerce. We see a huge opportunity in retail for mobile devices to change the relationship between retailers and customers, opening up whole new interactions. Shop.org vendors were in full force with the content and features enabling these new interactions with big customers like Best Buy, Express, The North Face and more. I interviewed a couple of these vendors to get their thoughts on mobile in retail and will be posting them over the next couple of days.

The first video is an interview with Maya Mikhailov from GPShopper. GPShopper powers mobile sites for retailers, creating experiences and unlocking features that drive traffic into stores and increase sales and customer loyalty. Watch the video below for Maya’s full description of their service and view of the impact mobile has on retail. Maya believes that retailers are really starting to embrace mobile and trying to find the best way to leverage the different, more personal engagement with customers. Creating a mobile experience, designed for the way consumers use mobile, changes the relationship between the consumer and retailer driving more in-store sales, combatting showrooming and creating loyal customers. Watch the video below for more specifics from Maya.
