Moki Releases Open APIs for Greater Flexibility and Control of Customer Facing Devices

Belly and SecurityMetrics First to Use Developer Portal for Server-to-Server Integration and Management Maximizing Moki Total Control Services

LEHI, Utah – July 15, 2015 – Moki, a leading provider of software for the management, security and analytics of Customer Facing Devices, today announced the availability of its application programming interfaces (API) for customer facing device developers. This additional service provides Moki Total Control customers with greater flexibility for the real-time, system-to-system management of Customer Facing Devices (CFDs) such as store tablets, mobile point-of-sale systems and digital kiosks.

The Moki Total Control API offers developers the opportunity to integrate information from their deployed iOS- and Android-based devices directly into their own custom applications. In a world where customization and real-time measurement of results is paramount, Moki’s APIs arms developers with a suite of tools to better deploy and monitor Customer Facing Devices – whether they have ten devices or ten thousand.

“With the release of Moki Total Control APIs, we are making it easier than ever for the developer community to adapt customer-facing technology to meet customer needs,” said Jared Blake, CTO of Moki. “Thanks to real-time data capture and server-to-server querying, our APIs offer a more efficient means of tracking and managing the effectiveness of Customer Facing Devices. Innovative new options for real-time integration of Moki’s Total Control services with our clients’ existing systems have already emerged and we believe this is just scratching the surface of the potential.”

Belly and SecurityMetrics are two of the first companies to take advantage of Moki’s newly-available API. International data and security compliance provider SecurityMetrics is using the Moki API to create and manage accounts. Similarly, digital loyalty platform provider Belly has implemented Moki APIs to automate its device rollout, enrollment and profiles. By using a server-to-server call to create an app managing field deployment, Belly integrated deployment processes in thousands of convenience store locations – slashing deployment time by more than 50 percent per device.

“In the day-to-day operations of our field techs, time savings is critical,” said Trey Springer, product lead at Belly. “By extending the functionality of Moki Total Control into our application, we have been able to automate and streamline major elements of our deployment and support processes. This has resulted in both time and cost savings, but more importantly an overall better experience for our merchant customers.”

Moki’s RESTful API endpoints give clients secure access to device data for workflows, systems integration and reporting. API call possibilities include device details, creation of enrollment codes, searches, screenshots and device restarts. Using the Moki developer portal, owners and operators of Customer Facing Devices can gain access to the documentation, sample code and other tools needed to integrate their workflow with the Moki systems. Users can test their API calls, using live documentation to quickly understand how the API works, learn what inputs are expected and see what the response from Total Control will look like.
