Before we dive into the solutions that Moki provides, let’s discuss the four types of mobile device solution providers and how they are different from one another.
- MDM stands for mobile device management. MDM providers, in the traditional sense, provide a solution to manage devices by leveraging device-level policies that secure mobile devices.
- MAM stands for mobile application management. MAM providers provide solutions to manage applications on mobile devices. They don’t manage device settings or provide device policies.
- EMM stands for enterprise mobility management. Enterprise mobility management is a combination of mobile device management and mobile application management. EMM providers provide solutions, in the form of policies, to secure and manage corporate-owned mobile devices. In addition, EMM providers also have solutions to manage mobile applications installed on devices.
- UEM stands for unified endpoint management. UEM providers provide all the capabilities of EMM providers, but they also allow their customers to manage all types of endpoints, including iOS, Android, Windows, Chrome OS, and Mac OS, through a single console. UEM providers also provide their customers with access to the device’s apps and files.
Note: more often than not, mobile device management (MDM) and enterprise mobility management (EMM) are used interchangeably. Depending on who you ask, they could mean the exact same thing.
Which Solution Does Moki Provide?
Moki is a mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM), and enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider. Moki can fully manage iOS and Android device policies to lock them down to one or multiple applications, can configure device settings, can install and manage mobile applications, can remote control devices, etc. Moki is not a unified endpoint management provider, as Moki currently only supports iOS and Android.
Hopefully, that helps you understand a little more about the industry and what the different device management solutions have to offer.
