The Challenge
How To Set Appropriate Design Goals With Local Community
The mission of The New York Public Library is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen communities.
NYPL is in early program development for the renovation of NYPL’s largest circulating branch, Mid-Manhattan Library. Given its community oriented mission, NYPL wanted to include local community’s voice in setting key design goals.
Specifically, NYPL sought to involve community’s key decisions regarding programs offerings, services provided, and spaces in the renovated library.
The Solution
Deploy Customer Facing Devices To Collaborate With The Community
NYPL installed iPad based Digital Kiosks with Moki Total Control at key locations. Patrons use these devices to provide design inputs to NYPL.
- Moki Total Control Enables NYPL To:
- Interact with patrons via Moki’s simple and elegant kiosk app.
- Secure device and survey app by locking-down iPad. Lock-down ensures that the kiosks are used for intended purpose only.
