In order to improve security, 2-Factor Authentication is now required for users that log in using a non-Google based email
- For existing users, using a non-Google based email, at their next login, they will be required to verify their email address and add a mobile number to be used for 2-factor authentication.
- For new users moving forward, using a non-Google based email, they will be required to verify their email address after sign up and add a mobile number for use with 2-factor authentication, at the time of sign up.
- Moving forward, all logins completed by users using a non-Google based email will require the use of the mobile number for 2-factor authentication. At login, the phone number attached to that user’s account will be sent a verification code that will need to be entered.
- If you need to update your mobile number tied to your 2-factor authentication, learn how here.
